VASE or The Visual Arts Scholastic Event

The mission of the TAEA Visual Arts Scholastic Event is to recognize exemplary student achievement in the Visual Arts by providing art students and programs a standard of excellence in which to achieve.

The competition is first held at the Regional Level at Chisholm Trail High School in Saginaw, Texas on February 11, 2017. All work is due to me by December 15th, unless a conversation is had to extend the deadline. Registration costs are covered by the school for selected participants.  Participants MUST show up for a 5 minute interview but wait times can be extensive.  All work is scored along with the interview and based on a 1-4 range. Students that are a no show are subject to a fee of their registration costs.

All artwork that score a 4 have received a medal and those artworks are then scored again.  Only 10% will move on to the State Competition.  Students are NOT required to interview at the State Level.

At the state level all Regional Winners are evaluated and the top 10% will be awarded the GOLD SEAL and go on a tour of Texas. All work will be returned to the students.
